Independent, Charter and Parochial Schools presented by ProSolve

Supporting collaboration, ingenuity, and innovative cross-sector partnerships for today's students

National Summer Learning Association’s (NSLA) Independent, Parochial and Charter Schools (IPSC) professional summer learning community (PLC) is composed of leadership professionals who work in or support youth in these schools. This includes professionals who run auxiliary and summer programs, organizations who partner to provide services and programs, school administrators and leaders, and other community advocates and business partners. Youth participating in these summer and school year programs can be from public, private or other schools.

The purpose of the IPCS PLC is to bring school leaders and community partners together to collaborate and leverage resources to ensure that all young people have access to high-quality summer learning and enriching experiences.

Who Should Join this PLC?

  • School leaders, such as Heads of Schools, Division Leaders, and Directors of Summer Programs, who are looking to expand their professional knowledge, wanting to leverage resources in their schools and communities to reach a broader base, and looking for support and fellowship through a peer group.
  • Staff from education centers, non-profit organizations, and businesses serving youth in Preschool - Grade 12 looking to work with independent, parochial, and charter schools.

Working collaboratively, we

  • Share best practices and resources
  • Regularly convene and train school leaders through in-person events, webinars and roundtable discussions
  • Hold quarterly meetings and an in-person retreat at NSLA’s Annual Conference in Washington, DC
