Pell grants, a needs-based financial program, play a key role in supporting low income students on the path to college completion. Until now, the federal Pell grants only covered study for the fall and spring terms but new flexibility in the program allows summer college courses to be covered beginning this year.


What are the benefits and future challenges of sustaining Congress funded year-round Pell grants? The National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) spoke to researcher Vivian Liu, Research Associate at the Community College Research Center to find out.
